Welcome to the 23rdAnnual Animation Anniversary.I'm Dick Proctor, your host for the evening and I' dlike to open with a couple of words about recentdevelopments. I don’t have any funnyanecdoteslike Idid last year; I got myself in enough trouble with acouple of those. But you' 11 get plenty of comedywith our main speaker, Mr. Jerry Sprainer.
I'm first proud to say that we havehadappallingsuccess in computer animation overthis past year. Tiny boxes on our tables calledcomputers have replacedancienttechnique in animation. Tools we used ten years ago are ondisplay at the local museum. Drawingapparatusfrom five years ago are collector's items withthe status ofantiques. And that device I used last week has already tripled in price!Someantagonismstill remains among a fewannoyingold-timers that we all still love, honor andrespect, but we allanticipatea bright future for animation on computers.
Anyway, I would now like toannouncethe beginning of a new animation movie project set intheAntarcticthat will continue to merge traditional and computer animation. This project hasfull funding, will test even newer technology and, while the story is stillonlyanecdotal,anticipationis great. We hope to annihilate other movies released incompetition with this project at the box office.
Anyhow, if there are no furtherannouncements, and before they pull me off the stage, I wouldlike to introduce our main speaker, a man for whom there is no apathy, Mr. Jerry Sprainer.
